The Amsterdam Sacred Harp singers warmly invite you to our All-Day Singing in Amsterdam!
Sacred Harp is an a cappella community singing tradition that started in the 19th century in the United States. It’s loud, fun, and everyone can do it! We will sing from the 1991 Denson edition of the Sacred Harp; loaner copies will be available.
Location
Our venue will be the Weteringkerk, Veluwelaan 20, Amsterdam.
Programme
Programme Saturday (Weteringkerk):
10:00 Registration
10:30 Singing
T.B.D. Lunch break
T.B.D. More singing
16:00 End
For everyone who wants to join us for a social in the evening. We meet at 19.00 hrs at Café de Jaren, Nieuwe Doelenstraat 20, 1012 CP Amsterdam, for dinner/drinks.
On the Friday evening before, there will be a Shenandoah Harmony singing, location to be determined. On Sunday we aren’t planning anything.
Accommodation
We’ll do our best to arrange accommodation for visiting singers, contact us if you need this.
Transport
Europaplein metro station (line 52) is a 10-minute walk from our venue, as is RAI railway station. Bus 62 stop Maasstraat is closest.
Plan your Dutch public transport trip using www.9292.nl.
Parking
Parking near the venue costs 5 euro per hour. Cheaper rates are available at 20 minutes walking distance. There are also P+R locations around the city, and combined with a public transport ticket to the city centre you can park there more cheaply, but be careful with the rules for that: our venue is not in the centre area for that.
