CANCELLED: 2nd Amsterdam All-Day Singing 25 April 2020

NOTE: The All-Day Singing has been cancelled due to the Corona virus epidemic

The Amsterdam Sacred Harp singers warmly invite you to the second All-Day Singing in Amsterdam!

Sacred Harp is an a cappella community singing tradition that started in the 19th century in the United States. It’s loud, fun, and everyone can do it! We will sing from the 1991 Denson edition of the Sacred Harp; some loaner copies will be available.

Location

Our venue will be Westerwijk, a building in 1920s Amsterdamse School style with nice acoustics, the same that we used last time. Address: Westerwijk, Admiraal de Ruijterweg 150, Amsterdam.

Programme

Programme Friday (location TBA):
~20.00 Informal singing

Programme Saturday (Westerwijk):
10:00 Registration
10:30 Singing school
11:30 Singing
13:15 Dinner on the grounds
14:30 More singing
16:30 End

There will be a dinner on the grounds (i.e., lunch); your culinary contribution is appreciated (but not necessary). Information on further activities will appear here and on our web site, as will information about accommodation.

Note that King’s Day, our yearly national orange-themed street party, will be on the Monday after and some of us will probably go sing in a park then.
